Azithrofort

Pharmacological properties: azithromycin is semi-synthetic substances from type of azalides (group of macrolides). It is active against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Enterococcus spp., Actinomyces spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., etc.), Gram-negative bacteria (Salmonella spp., Moraxella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Actinobacillus spp., Bordetella spp., Escherichia spp., Proteus spp.), Leptospira spp., Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, Spirochaetales spp.

The mechanism of action of azithromycin is associated with the inhibition of protein biosynthesis.

Injected azithromycin rapidly penetrate into tissues and intracellular fluid where presents during long time, is concentrated in the area of inflammation. Azithromycin is accumulated by macrophages and has a postantibiotic effect.

Administration: Azithrofort administer for cattle, sheep and goats, camels, horse, swine, dogs for treatment of diseases of respirator, digestive, genitourinary systems, locomotor apparatus and skin tissue which caused sensitive to azithromycin microorganisms.

Dosage: Azithrofort should be administered by the intramuscular or subcutaneous route. The recommended dose rate is 1 ml/50 kg bodyweight as single injection. In case of hard occident of disease possible repeated injection during 48 hours.

Contraindications: contraindicated in known cases of hypersensitivity to macrolides. Do not use the drug in lactating animals. Do not use simultaneously with penicillin and sulfonamide antibiotics.

Withdraw periods: slaughter meat of cattle held not earlier than 40 days, sheep and goats - in 35 days, pigs - 40 days after the last drug administration.

Packing: 50 ml amber glass vessels.

Storage: protect from light, 10-25⁰С.
