Description: solution for injection from yellow to brownish color.
Composition: oxytetracycline – 200 mg, long-action excipients – ad to 1 ml
Pharmacological properties: oxytetracycline is semi-synthetic substances from type of tetracyclines. It is active against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Enterococcus spp., Actinomyces spp., Arcanobacterium spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., etc.), Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia spp., Salmonella spp., Moraxella spp., Pasteurella and Mannheimia spp., Haemophilus spp., Actinobacillus spp., Bordetella spp., Escherichia spp., Proteus spp.) and some intracellular microorganisms (Rickettsia, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma) and some Protozoa. The mechanism of action of oxytetracycline is associated with the inhibition of microbial protein biosynthesis.
Administration: Oxyfort 20% administer for cattle, sheep and goats, camels, swine, rabbits for treatment of diseases of respirator, digestive, genitourinary systems, locomotor apparatus and skin tissue which caused sensitive to oxytetracycline microorganisms (i.e. metritis, enteritis, bronchopneumonia, etc.).
Dosage: Oxyfort 20% should be administered by the intramuscular route. The recommended dose rate is 1 ml per 10 kg bodyweight, as single injection. In case of hard occident of disease possible repeated injection during 48 hours. Not recommended inject in one place more than 10-15 ml of drug.
Contraindications: individual hypersensitivity to drugs ingredients. Do not mix in one syringe with other drugs. Do not use simultaneously with bacteriostatic antibiotics (penicillins, etc.).
Withdraw periods: meat – 21 days, milk production – 7 days.
